How we treat each other.
This Code sets out the behaviour YDLC expects from everyone connected with our work — participants, mentors, volunteers, staff, facilitators, advisors, and partners. It is written in plain language. It does not create legal obligations beyond those that already apply.
What everyone brings.
Respect
Treat everyone with dignity, regardless of background or identity.
Appropriate boundaries
Maintain professional conduct and do not blur personal and organisational roles.
Honesty
Represent yourself and your role accurately. Do not mislead others.
Responsible communication
Communicate carefully — in person and online. Words and tone matter.
Safe participation
Do not place yourself or others at risk. Raise concerns when something feels wrong.
Respect for privacy
Keep personal information you encounter confidential unless safety requires sharing.

Raise a concern.
If this Code is not being followed, or you have a safeguarding concern, please raise it. You can report anonymously where policy permits. You do not need to be certain — if something feels wrong, report it.
